On October 18, the International Marxist Option held an event in solidarity with the Palestinian cause in the city of Cali.
The event was part of the national campaign against the genocide in Gaza, denouncing the advance of ethnic cleansing and the settler occupation of Palestinian territory in the West Bank and rejecting the «Trump Peace Plan.»
Likewise, it is part of the actions in support of the Palestinian cause that the organization has been carrying out in different cities across the country since October 8, 2023, the date on which Zionism began the current war of extermination.

Through his presentation of numerous facts, he highlighted the suffering, courage, and resilience of the Palestinian people, who have historically faced colonization through various systematic methods used by Zionism to ethnically cleanse the population and seize their land. These methods include systematic massacres and targeted killings of men, women, and children, as well as racial discrimination and animal-like treatment. Furthermore, an apartheid regime is imposed, with military control of movement through checkpoints, the destruction of homes and historical and cultural heritage, the arbitrary imprisonment of thousands of Palestinians, and the denial of the right of return for refugees, among the many atrocities perpetrated by the Israeli entity.

As comrade Firas Youseef pointed out, these practices are similar to those used by the Nazis in the Holocaust, as a planned policy of racist dispossession and extermination of the Palestinian people to erase their national identity.
Likewise, the event emphasized that solidarity with Palestine must persist, as this is an urgent task for the international labor and popular movement. A call was made not only to strengthen it, but also to expand actions of denunciation and international mobilization to demand an end to genocide and occupation. The Palestinian cause and its struggle against colonial occupation and for national liberation are an integral part of the struggle of the world’s oppressed peoples for liberation.
At the end of the event, an International Marxist Option activist read the Political Declaration rejecting and denouncing Trump’s «Infamous ‘Peace’ Plan,» which pits the Palestinians against the sword of genocide and the hard place of «agreement.» (Political Statement at this link).
The recent event, along with the continuation of our Campaign, is part of the steadfast resistance of thousands around the world who continue to rise up against the extermination carried out by the Israeli entity and the United States, supported by all the major powers, the complicity of the Arab bourgeoisies and the Palestinian National Authority, as well as by almost all the world’s governments, which approve the Trump-Netanyahu «Peace» Plan.
These various acts of solidarity have been fundamental in achieving respite for the population of Gaza, with the partial ceasefire in Gaza, even though it is part of the trap set by Zionism and the powers, seeking the complete defeat of the Palestinian cause.
