Following the bombings carried out by Israel and the United States against Iran, protests erupted in several U.S. cities, organized by pro-Palestinian groups who condemned the attacks and denounced the ongoing ethnic cleansing in Gaza.
At the same time, Europe witnessed massive demonstrations in cities such as Berlin, Paris, and London. In Kolkata, India, and across Yemen, thousands also took to the streets. Some groups went so far as to burn U.S. and Israeli Zionist flags.
These demonstrations not only rejected the attacks on Iran but also denounced the genocide taking place in Gaza.
As thousands of protesters around the world mobilize against the ethnic cleansing in Gaza, U.S. support for Israel, and the broader offensive against the Middle East, it is vital that workers, the youth, and other sectors of the population in Latin America follow this example by organizing mobilizations and protests.
Trade unions, democratic and popular organizations, and the left across the continent face the urgent challenge of responding with concrete action to what the moment demands: standing up to the imperialist and Zionist aggressions led by the Trump-Netanyahu alliance and other imperialist powers, all complicit in the genocide—whether through action or silence.
