As we have repeatedly denounced, the genocide carried out by Zionism in the Gaza Strip since October 2023 employs Nazi-like methods such as the systematic bombing of all infrastructure; the killing, to date, of more than 60,000 Palestinians; the “death traps” where starving Gazans approach to claim aid only to be brutally massacred; the planned famine that Israel has been implementing since 2023; and the announcement made at the end of August 2025 of launching an offensive to seize Gaza City and defeat Hamas.
Expressions such as the massive mobilizations in the United States, Europe, Australia, Pakistan, Japan, Mexico, Argentina, and Israel, as well as the formation of the “Global Sumud Flotilla” by nearly 44 countries—which, in a defiant gesture toward Zionism, set sail for Gaza to deliver aid and received an enormous and emotional send-off in Barcelona, Genoa, Paris, Istanbul, and Madrid—are important events that deserve to be highlighted.
The same can be said of what recently occurred during the Vuelta a España cycling race, where a group of fans protested against the presence of the Israeli team, waving Palestinian flags and blocking the road to prevent the stage from finishing. Or the standing ovation given by participants at the Venice Film Festival to the Palestinian film The Voice of Hind Rajab.
The combination of these and other events is introducing significant contradictions and realignments within European governments and inside Israeli society itself, expressed in the denunciations by young people, parliamentarians, academics, and intellectuals who declare that their country “is committing genocide.” From the perspective of Zionism, such declarations constitute “high treason.”
This combination of circumstances has resulted in a rising wave of rejection of Israel and growing solidarity with Gaza across the world. The path for the masses is therefore becoming clearer. What is still lacking is the decisive push of the working class.
